In a green corner of a leafy forest, little colorful insects lived. Every day they played together and enjoyed the fresh air and the smell of the flowers. One summer day, they decided to hold a race to see which of them was the fastest. They named this race the Insects Speed Race.
All the insects gathered in a little field. The field was full of green leaves and colorful flowers. Green Grasshopper, Red Ladybug, Colorful Butterfly, Black Ant, and Yellow Bee were all ready to race. Each of them was special in some way, but all of them were eager to show their very best.
Green Frog, who was always friends with the insects, was chosen as the judge of the race. He said, “The race starts here and goes to that big red flower. Whoever reaches it first is the winner.”
Green Grasshopper was ready with strong legs and long jumps. He thought he would surely win. Red Ladybug, with small but strong wings, knew she could fly fast. Colorful Butterfly with her beautiful wings, Black Ant who was always hardworking and full of try, and Yellow Bee who was always quick and lively, were all ready and excited.
Green Frog said in a loud voice, “Ready, go!” and the insects began to move.
Green Grasshopper jumped far ahead with one long leap and left everyone behind. He was very fast, and he thought he would surely win. But Red Ladybug opened her wings too and flew quickly through the air. Colorful Butterfly followed the ladybug with her thin, beautiful wings. Yellow Bee found the fastest path with a buzz and went after the goal. Black Ant ran quickly over the leaves.
Each of the insects tried with all their might. Green Grasshopper was still ahead, but suddenly his foot caught on a twig and he fell. Red Ladybug and Colorful Butterfly passed over him. Yellow Bee buzzed by as well. Green Grasshopper tried to get up and go on, but Black Ant ran past him and moved farther ahead.
In the last moments of the race, all the insects were close to the big red flower. Red Ladybug and Colorful Butterfly were in a close race. Yellow Bee flew toward the flower with all her speed. Black Ant had come near too, with try and stick-to-it.
Suddenly, Red Ladybug reached the flower with a quick, fast flight and won! All the insects gathered around her with joy and cheers. Colorful Butterfly, Yellow Bee, Green Grasshopper, and Black Ant all congratulated her.
Green Frog announced in a loud voice, “Our winner is Red Ladybug! But all of you were very good, and each of you showed your own special gifts.”
Green Grasshopper said, “I may have fallen, but I am still glad I tried.” Colorful Butterfly said, “I enjoyed my flying, and what matters is that I played with my friends.” Yellow Bee said with a buzz, “Speed is not always what matters most. Working together and friendship matter more.” And Black Ant said with a smile, “We are all winners, because we raced together and enjoyed it.”
All the insects celebrated together and were happy that they had a joyful, exciting day. They understood that more important than winning and losing are friendship and working together. And that is how the Insects Speed Race became a day to remember, a day of which everyone kept good memories.
The End.
