Once upon a time, in a green, beautiful forest, there lived a rabbit named Bunny and a turtle named Lucky. Bunny was very fast and nimble, and he always loved to race the other animals. Lucky, unlike Bunny, moved slowly and patiently.
One day Bunny said to Lucky, “Lucky, let’s have a race. I am sure I will reach the finish line much sooner than you!”
Lucky answered with a calm smile, “Very well, Bunny. I am ready. But remember that it is not always important who reaches the finish line first. What matters is enjoying the path.”
Bunny laughed and said, “We already know who will win! Let’s start the race.”
They marked the starting point, and wise Owly was chosen as the race judge. Owly sat at the top of a tall tree and said, “Ready… one… two… three… go!”
Bunny began to run at an unbelievable speed and quickly pulled far ahead of Lucky. He said to himself, “I will surely win! Lucky is so slow.”
After a while, Bunny felt that he was far ahead of Lucky and decided to rest a little. He lay down under a cool tree and soon fell asleep.
Meanwhile, Lucky kept going calmly and steadily. He enjoyed the beauties of the forest, listened to the birds, and enjoyed the smell of the flowers. Lucky was in no hurry and moved along with patience.
Bunny had fallen into a deep sleep and forgotten the race. But Lucky kept moving with patience and reached the sleeping Bunny. He smiled and quietly passed by him.
When Bunny woke up, the sun was near sunset. He jumped up in a hurry and began to run. But when he reached the finish line, he was surprised to see that Lucky had already arrived, and Owly and the other animals of the forest were congratulating him.
Bunny said unhappily, “This cannot be! I am much faster than Lucky. How did he win?”
Lucky answered with a kind smile, “Dear Bunny, it does not matter how fast you are. What matters is going forward steadily and with patience. I enjoyed every moment of the path, and with patience I reached my goal.”
Wise Owly added, “Yes, Bunny. This race taught us that speed is not the only thing that brings success. Sometimes patience and persistence can also take us to our goal.”
Bunny, who had now learned a great lesson, smiled at Lucky and said, “You are right, Lucky. I learned from you that we should not always hurry. What matters is enjoying the path and reaching our goal with patience.”
From that day on, Bunny and Lucky were good friends and always helped each other. They understood that friendship and working together are more precious than any race.
The End.
